Episode 22

Hello everyone, I'm thrilled to announce that Episode 22 of Survivor: Stranglethorn Vale has been released and is up on the site. This episode marks a few changes. Characters will be changed irrevocably, a new threat begins to present itself, and we're switching to a new file format. To accommodate our fans who are on Mac, we're jumping from Windows Media files to H.264. If you have Firefox, make sure you right click the link and "Save Link As", otherwise the video will open up in a separate Firefox window. At any rate, enjoy the episode and thanks for watching.

Take That God

Hi everyone, I'm just giving you a Fourth of July status update. This weekend we were able to film Episodes 21 and 22 of Survivor: STV and I shall be working on Episode 21 immediately, so hopefully by next week, Episode 21 should be up and running. Stay tuned, and thanks for watching.

God Has Forsaken Us

After multiple attempts (including the ever-popular freezer trick), I am saddened and angered to report that the data on that hard drive is unrecoverable. This means we need to reshoot. We will be doing that over the 4th of July weekend, so expect Episode 21 to be out in the week or two following that. Thanks for watching (or in this case, wanting to watch but unable too because of inept producers).

The Joys of Setbacks

Hi everyone, I figured people might be getting anxious as to the release of Episode 21. We have recently hit a snag with the post production though. The primary hard drive all of the assorted files are saved on is malfunctioning. Memorial Day weekend will be data recovery weekend for us, and I am hoping we can salvage everything before I smash the drive to bits for betraying me like this. I'll keep everyone updated on the progress of the recovery and my plans of vengeance. Stay tuned.

Paypal and Us

As you regulars might have noticed late last night, I updated the site home page ever so slightly and a magic little "Donation" button appeared below our cast list. This is so that people who wish to help make episodes come out faster, better, and crisper can help us ever so slightly. It is in no way mandatory and is on a "you wanna do it, go ahead" basis. Anything donated will go DIRECTLY and unequivocally to NOTHING else but the maintenance of the website, software updates, and pizza. Thank you if you do donate. Thank you even if you don't

Announcement

Hello Internet and good day. I would like to take the time here to announce that Dan will no longer be working on the series. With the beta of Starcraft 2 being out he has slowly become addicted and last night he killed a Koren male for using a cheese tactic. The Michigan state police found him in his room under his bed saying he needed to hide from the nuclear launch that was detected. So please understand that we cannot move on without him. So the site will be shut down later today and sold to Russia. Thank you for your understanding, and have a happy April fools day.

Hi everyone. After a very long wait, I am happy to announce that the first episode of CP_Fail, our Team Fortress 2 mini-series, is finished and now up on the site. While this is not a new episode of Survivor, I hope you'll find it just as entertaining. Expect a great deal of new content to be on the site in the coming months (this entire mini-series as well as three more episodes of Survivor). Stay tuned, and thanks for watching.

Holiday Updates

Hi everyone out there, I've noticed that there has been alot of people wondering when the next episode of Surivor: STV will be released. I figure I'll give a status update as to where we are right now. Our new mini-series is taking most of my time nowadays, and I am hoping to have the majority of it done by the end of this week. After that I can start working on Episode 20. We're going to continue along with filming though, I hope to have around four episodes filmed while I'm still on Christmas break. Sorry for the delays, but I don't have as much time to work on this stuff as I used to. Stay tuned, and thanks for watching.

Who Saw This Coming?

Hey everyone, so it's been about a month since we here at Viperline Films began our partnership with Machinima.com. I always figured I knew the average size of our audience pretty well. Turns out I was completely wrong. The videos are apparently racking up far more views than I ever thought possible, so I just wanted to thank the both the old and new viewers for continuing to watch (this is one of those weird moments where I realize that people other than me actually like the show).

I figure I can give a production update here as well. I haven't started any editing for Episode 20 of Survivor: STV, both the fun of college workloads and my desire to work on our new TF2 series has prevented me from doing so. The TF2 series is progressing, I hope to have another episode pre-cut by the end of this weekend. My intent is to have the entire mini-series finished at roughly the same time so I can do a more periodic release than we have with Survivor (i.e. whenever we can make them, we try to make them). Stay tuned, and thanks for watching.

Episode 19

Hello everyone! Sorry for the insanely long time between these episode releases (take a look at the "delays" post on the forums for the full details on how busy I've been). I did want to get at least one video out right now, so Episode 19 of Survivor: Stranglethorn Vale is released and up on the site. We have Episode 20 filmed, though I will most likely focus on the Team Fortress 2 series at the moment.

On a sidenote, to those of you who have Facebook, I finally got enough time to make a Viperline Films page. Search for it and sign up, it'll be a far easier way to let you guys know when episodes get released. Thanks for watching.

Updates, Updates, Updates

Hi everyone out there, I came to the realization that it has been a couple months since I posted a progress report and my vastly overinflated ego has led me to believe that by not updating the site, I've driven the fan base to pillage, loot, and murder without remorse (I think I'm that important apparently). Well the time has come to end the anarchy. While we do not any new videos completed, we have been busy this summer. Between Survivor and the Team Fortress 2 mini-series, we've filmed seven episodes that I will be taking up to school to edit. In the coming weeks, expect to see a great deal of new content.

On a side note, I'll take the time to announce that we have partnered up with Machinima.com. We're taking part in a sponsorship program that should expand the our viewership. The release of content on this site will not change, however; videos will be posted here as we complete them. Thanks for watching.

And Just When Things Were Going So Smoothly

Hi everyone out there, I have the great honor of informing you that production on Episode 17 of Survivor: Stranglethorn Vale is going to be delayed due to a broken hard drive. We will most likely not be able to reshoot the episode until the very end of April once finals are done. On the upside though, I figure I'll take this time to announce that we will be doing a mini-series this summer set in Team Fortress 2. Stay tuned.

Episode 13 Progress

Hi everyone, I figured I make a post about our work on Episode 13 (instead of my usual posting of one announcement a month). We filmed everything for the episode during our Thanksgiving break, but due to the fact that it's getting to be finals time means we're probably not going to have the episode finished until the end of the next week at the earliest. Thanks again for watching.

Episode 12

I love making really late night posts. In preparation for Wrath of the Lich King, I decided to get one more episode done before I forfeit whatever is left of my social and productive life to Northrend. This does mean that Episode 12 of Survivor: Stranglethorn Vale is now up on the site and ready to be viewed. Click on the videos tab, download, and enjoy. Thanks for watching.

We're Somewhere Between Awesome and Horribly Bad

So we here at Viperline Films thought that maybe the show was actually good enough to make it into some Machinima festivals. Well, we were kinda right. I just got an e-mail from the Academy of Machinima Arts and Sciences. They said that Survivor: Stranglethorn Vale was not qualifying for competition, but they are giving us an Honorary Mention for "Best Student Work" category. Survivor: Stranglethorn Vale is now an Honorary Mention winning series!

Oh, and quick update on Episode 11, we shot all the footage last weekend, and I'm starting the editing this week. With any luck, it will be up on the site by the middle of next week. Thanks for watching

New Higher Quality Old Videos

As you may have noticed, the video quality of the last two episodes has been alot better than the seven before them. We been able to expand our disk space on our hosting site so we can upload higher quality videos now. In addition, I've also re compressed the other seven episodes to the same higher quality. As for Episode 10, we've finished shooting and have started editing/recording lines. I'm hoping to have it finished in a week or two. Thanks for watching.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the comments page is no longer, it's been replaced by an actual forum (only took us nine months). As for episode 8 progress, I am waiting on the last audio files I need, so it should be done relatively soon. Thanks for watching.

Finally...

First off, hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I decided to type up another update since I actually have new stuff to update. We finally got episode 7 shot last night and I can begin editing it, so hopefully new episodes will begin working their way onto the site in a few weeks. Once episodes 7 and 8 are up, we will try and finish one episode a month (as of this post I have scripts through episode 16 written). There has also been talk of possibly upgrading the site, so that we would have higher quality videos to download.

Updates, Updates, Updates

After two months of insanity, our server issues have been fixed and filming has re-commenced. The slight problem is that due to conflict of schedule, we did not have access to the normal amount of computers that we use to film. This has lead us to film Episode 8 of Survivor: STV ahead of Episode 7. Next weekend is looking like a pretty good weekend for all of us, so I hope Episode 7 will be filmed then. Hopefully we will have smooth sailing from there and I can edit and post the next two episodes in a few weeks. Basically, the ball is rolling, check back often

For Those That Care To Know

To all the the people out there who are wondering when we're going to get off the couch and release another episode, I figured I give you a little update. I was hoping to have another episode finished before August was over but we've run into server problems (i.e. it doesn't work) so August has been maintenance month for us. We should have a working server by either today or tomorrow so over the Labor Day weekend we can hopefully shoot the next 2 episodes (meaning we'll get one done before everyone else besides me gets bored and just starts playing WoW). I am hoping to get the episodes edited and up on the site in the next two weeks, so just check back when you're bored.

Updates for Episodes 4,5, and 6

I figure since I haven't made a new post in about a month, I'd let everyone know how progress is going with the future episodes. Due to the fact that Fraps saves videos as ridiculously huge avi files, we've been doing the episodes out of order (my hardrive was completely full). We've been working on 3 more episodes since about March, and two of them are completely done (Unfortunately they are episodes 5 & 6). Episode 4 is about 90% and I will hopefully finish it in the upcoming days once I get the rest of our audio files. Stay patient and thanks for watching.
