Viperline Films is the result of one man’s boredom combined with his ability to coerce his friends into helping him. The bored individual, Dan Wallace, liked shooting films and liked playing video games, so the decision to make machinima was inevitable. After honing his craft making a few Halo films that will never see the light of day, Dan thought that World of Warcraft would be the perfect place for his next endeavor (also he technically doesn’t own a Xbox). After sharing the idea with his friends Josh Cottrill and Mike Saloka, they agreed completely of their own free will, just for the record.
They had the game, the people, the technology, but no story whatsoever. Ideas were pitched and self-esteems were crushed. Then during one of their many Ventrillo conversations late at night, someone mentioned the idea of doing a Survivor parody. Considering none of them were fans of the show at all, it was the perfect idea. Welcome to the purest form of reality TV: scripted and shot in a video game. Enjoy the reality.
